MBR is 512bytes long. Have you looked inside of it? I wrote a hack some 20 years ago to enable multiboot for MS-DOS and AT&T UNIX, not with the orthodox menu, but just a text saying "Press D or U" and waiting for the keypress. As I recall, it was a very close shave. I think I used up every single byte of the given 512 minus the partition table after trying several combinations. You are right - MBR allows for infinite number of partitions (space-permitting), and space permits no more than four. Logical partitions are a different story and are described elsewhere, not in the MBR.

Someone has to register the "Almighty Filesharer" polytheistic religion in Ireland. They might worship gods named BitTorrent, aMule (also known as eMule - god is known to walk with many names), Limewire, etc. Worshipers everyday mantra should be: "Information wants to be free! **** *** MAFIAA!". Lets see who is blasphemous enough to criticize them!

If, my friend, we hadn't have the quantum mechanical phenomena, do you think that we could calculate our behaviour to the end of universe? No! That's why the Chaos Theory is made. We live in nonlinear world and for nonlinear systems one has to have infinitely precise computer. Because otherwice the calculation will very soon deviate prominently from reality (think about weather forecasts, if we would have tenfold the computation power we have now for forecasting the weather, we could maybe achieve only an additional hour more or less accurate forecast). We all would know that our lives are predetermined, but it would not be possible to know ahead what we would do!
