Submission + - Ubisoft's DRM cracked. For real this time. (pcpowerplay.com.au)

therufus writes: A few days after the release of Assassin's Creed II, naughty piracy sites were announcing they had cracked Ubisoft's Online Services Platform. Turns out, that wasn't entirely true. While it was possible to load into the game, players were unable to advance past a certain memory block. But now, it seems like they'll need to draft a new response. Less than 24 hours ago, a crack began circulating that removes the DRM entirely. PC Powerplay Australia has been covering the development.

Eee-Set, nod thirty two.

Not a real tongue twister if you ask me.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is tougher. We just say Em-BAM though ;)

Better yet, see how many people can't pronounce Kaspersky. I've heard "Gas-ber-skie", "Kas-ker-skee" and "Ka-per-skee". Last time I checked it was named after Eugene Kaspersky who pronounces his name "Kass-per-skee".

I know right? They call it a race to assemble a server. It's like running the 100m sprint, but starting 80m down the track. Children could do this.

I used to build computers on a daily basis. We once got an order for a multitude of PC's so myself, and the other guys at work decided to have a race. We had a box cutter, screwdriver, all the components in a pile still boxed and the desire to win. I can't remember what the timing was, but from pickup the box cutter to powering on was less than 5 minutes.

Submission + - South Australian Political Speach Law Backflip (adelaidenow.com.au)

therufus writes: Earlier today Slashdot reported on South Australia outlawing anonymous political speech. Attorney-General Michael Atkinson, the very man who sponsored this, has now done a backflip saying "I will immediately after the election move to repeal the law retrospectively". He goes on to say "It may be humiliating for me, but that's politics in a democracy and I'll take my lumps".
