Submission + - Man Wins Partial Victory In Circuit City Arrest (michaelrighi.com)

JeremyDuffy writes: "Michael Righi, the man who was arrested at Circuit City for failing to show his reciept/driver's license, has fought a moral battle against the city for almost a month now. The case has already been settled and he emerged victorious... sort of. It turns out that he's already spent almost $7500 and would have kept fighting them too, but because his family would have been dragged into it, he was forced to take a deal. They've expunged his record and dropped all charges, but he had to give up his right to sue the city to do it."

NewYorkCountryLawyer writes: "Adult photography publisher Perfect 10 has sued Microsoft for copyright infringement, claiming that MSN's Search engine displays thumbnails of pirated versions of the company's copyrighted pictures in search results, and that those results include links to the full-size pirated versions. It would appear that the outcome of this case will be controlled by the decision in Perfect 10 v. Amazon and Google (pdf), where claims of this nature — relating to the Google search engine — were dealt with in detail."

Submission + - Pico-ITX- Because Size Matters

An anonymous reader writes: It's not every day that a new form factor comes out, especially not one that is 10cm x 7.2cm. Despite its size, Pico-ITX is the hottest new thing in the rapidly changing small form factor market. It is considerably smaller than Mini-ITX (17cm x 17cm) which has proven itself to be quite versatile and though some sacrifices had to be made to shrink the platform, Pico-ITX is surprisingly complete. The system was tested with Feather Linux but the PX10000 has the power to run Windows XP or Ubuntu if you want to add on a hard drive.

Submission + - Digg.com Attempts to Supress HD-DVD Revolt

fieryprophet writes: "An astonishing number of HD-DVD encryption key releated stories have gone MIA, in many cases along with the digger who submitted it. As a result, many in the digg community are becoming disillusioned with the "democratic" news site and retaliating in clever and inventive ways. Search digg for HD-DVD song lyrics, coffee mugs, shirts, and more for a taste of the rebellion."
