You do as well with South Korea. And when it comes to "goodwill" you have to ask what is going to come of that goodwill. Maersk will probably get screwed in Europe over the next few decades no matter which shipyard it uses. At least South Korea has reason to remember who threw them some business and humble enough to do something in kind.

I don't think it's just about money. I think it's also about actual capability to do the job on a fast schedule and goodwill.

Assuming the need is infinite, if your demands are satisfied you might turn to flexibility and convenience. Last quarter we here in Norway saw a tiny dip in fixed residential broadband for the first time ever, whether that's a fluke or not is uncertain but business lines have been on the decline for some time because small 1-5 man shops use 3G/LTE to check their mail rather than having a dedicated broadband line in the office. It's just an extension of that most "normal" people I run into use wireless now instead of wired networks because it's capped by their Internet speed anyway. And even if you gave them gigabit Internet, they'd probably still feel wireless was fast enough.

Not to me. To me, "Left" and "Right" have rich and highly contrasting meanings. I might partially agree however on the "Democrat" vs. "Republican" thing, esp. since non-Progressives are such pariahs in both parties (if they exist at all anymore in the D's). And while I might agree that the Progressives in each have both targeted constituencies for votes and cash (kinda redundant, since both are loosely "speech" when it's about politics), less so on the carving and harvesting, as I consider the GOP to have been/be doing a very poor job of building up or maintaining their target GOP Progressivism -sympathetic constituency.

I.e. I while I think there's some truth in what you're saying here, I don't think they're really equivalent enough to be "equivalencing" them like that. (Considering the two sides as basically equivalent can also be a "cheap distraction", seemingly only perpetuated by one side, while they lunge for your wallet and rights.)

He wanted to take advantage of old middle aged users afraid of change to get used to it so they will all stick with Windows Phone after being broken in.

MS is on the right step. The feedback tool and not re leasing isos and instead forcing updates to as many users as possible shows they are listening.

Returning the start menu and un-fullscreening applets shows it is paying attention. Tablet and hybrid users get a metroized big left start menu and screen which you can turn off.

This. Actual stamps is mostly a consumer thing, I just checked our commercial postal service and they recommend a "stamping" machine if you send more than 40 letters/week where you charge it up like a prepaid cell phone, same thing for packages except there they normally print to labels they slap on the package. And for the big companies you get bulk pre-printed envelopes with logo that are collected at your place of business and charged to your corporate account, we have those at work. The potential for abuse is small since you can't drop them off at a regular mailbox and it'd be obvious who you're using to pay for your postage. A lot of the consumer-to-business mail is prepaid and rolled into the cost of business too, the few times I use stamps is to other people but most of that is replaced by email since you don't need a formal signature on anything. I guess there's the odd package, but if it's too big to fit a mail box you're going to the post office anyway.

Nokia has more brand name recognition, so of course we won't use that.

Of the "let's frame it and put it on a wall" more than "I want one in my pocket" variety. I'll always have fond memories of Nokia 3210 and the state of the art in 1999, but it's not selling a new phone and it's not quite up to collectible/antique standards either. And Elop's little stunt sure didn't help Nokia's reputation as a has-been either. Not to mention that Nokia running Windows Phone might have some of the same hardware but there's very little in common between "old Nokia" and "new Nokia" anyway. I think this was a pretty easy call of Microsoft and would have happened regardless, if they'd ponied up a little more they could have gotten the Nokia name for good as it matters more to consumers than the commercial market the remains of Nokia serves.

Ok, to your question. Point out that they volunteers who write their signup may not be available when they want to make changes; and as volunteers if their demands get too high they may simply drop out of the project. If they are problems with the site they have none to turn to to fix it unless the volunteers decide to put in more time; and they may expect you to take care of any problems that arise. Finally, software development takes at least 2x as long as expected and you need to test thoroughly to be sure it works. What would happen if the large event all of a sudden lost the registration of may participants? Or messed up scheduling, etc. do to an unforeseen bug? Do they have the time to sort that out and still pull of the event? Frankly, when I here "we have unique demands" I ask for clarification an detain gently guid ether to the determination they are not a unique as they think. Hm....you never watch a movie and have to go to the can?
