Not everyone who uses a SCADA/Siemens system has internal staff to maintain the system levels. I was asked this week to connect a SIEMENS /SCADA system for Rail delivery to be connected for remote access for support/trouble shooting. The saddest part was the lack of network and security knowledge that the deploying entity had in their possession. It was uncomfortable to discuss networking with them. We were paying them to listen to why their solution was insecure, and would not be set up in the manner they wanted. They got it eventually. But I'll say this..There are many many many SCADA systems which are online for no reason other than simplicity's sake. Don't get me started about the ones left with default settings by the VAR during deployments. Scary world.

Don't get me wrong. I think Obama is a worthless pig fucker, but what he is proposing seems reasonable here. My bigger fear is the hidden addon items and agenda that isn't being spoken about .. Isn't that precisely what is being proposed by Obama? To eliminate those sanctioned monopolies and to prevent state laws which seek to prevent civic or competitive broadband projects.

Actually, there are many non compete clauses in cable fiefdoms. This would allow for pole access, and competition in areas where there cannot be one, and or it it is slowed at every turn due to red tape and ground/pole contracts. NYC would benefit greatly by getting verizon out of he way.

How exactly is the first gesture to "get the cameras attention" an improvement as you state? Are you saying that the previous implementations didn't have gestures to initiate an action/response?

Are you saying that Verizon has no say in updates and applying them? You didn't follow the Galaxy Nexus debacle where updates were not released for a Nexus phone until 4-6 months after the rest of the world got them?

Google Isn't Apple. The US gives way too much power to the carrier/OEM's.

Google can release all the patches it wants, but until Verizon tests them all and makes it's own changes it will not ever push them to the device.

Blame whoever you would like. If google had the power to push out updates to all devices running android, then there would be nothing holding devices back from running stock.

Google has no legal option to update your OS in the US. Somehow Apple managed to get that secured, but Android updates come from the phone manufacturer (same as Apple does) but inthe hands of Verizon?At&T you cannot upgrade your phone, and google cannot. The manufacturer can, but they need to have carrier intervention and testing etc.

Google can't push out updates to the handsets. The carriers by law mandated that only they can update and test the devices. You as a citizen and owner of the device cannot do this yourself either. But sure Google is at fault.

I've not seen anything that the government has released regarding this. I have heard speculation that this was North Korea, but haven't been shown any actual evidence. So to your questions answer: I'd need evidence. IP logs, exploits used written in proprer north korean grammar or something. Anything other than Comey and Clapper saying it was them the bad koreans ... they did it.
