Whatever it is you think you know, it better be pretty damn incontrovertible and actionable you'd have to be a fool to make the comment above otherwise. You know a limited part of a picture that was redacted and edited and restated and misunderstood then half lied by NSA/FBI/IRS etc to lack accountability in their responses. Besides the only way this resoves itself is if there are severe punishments to those in the postition to be intentionally misleading the public, and those violating the constitution, or a revolution. The FISA was/is the oversite. It didn't work then, and only served to make secret court ruling justifiable.

I can only hope that these experts rushing to get their reviews done quickly at the end of the quarter can be replaced by pattern matching AI. Their results if rushed have huge implication in the million s and billions for certain industries. Also, is there any tracking of who has which patents to review? Is the person filing the patent ever allowed to have communication with the reviewer? I would imagine there is plenty of room for bribery or pay off to let a certain patent review through.

Except there is a law on record for exactly this sort of behavior. The fact that it is not frequently/publicly followed up upon, is another matter (Clapper)

TITLE 18 > PART I > CHAPTER 47 > 1001

  1001. Statements or entries generally

(a) Except as otherwise provided in this section, whoever, in any matter within the jurisdiction of the executive, legislative, or judicial branch of the Government of the United States, knowingly and willfully—

(1) falsifies, conceals, or covers up by any trick, scheme, or device a material fact;

(2) makes any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or representation; or

(3) makes or uses any false writing or document knowing the same to contain any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or entry;

shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 5 years or, if the offense involves international or domestic terrorism (as defined in section 2331), imprisoned not more than 8 years, or both.

(c) With respect to any matter within the jurisdiction of the legislative branch, subsection (a) shall apply only to—

(1) administrative matters, including a claim for payment, a matter related to the procurement of property or services, personnel or employment practices, or support services, or a document required by law, rule, or regulation to be submitted to the Congress or any office or officer within the legislative branch; or

Eroding yes.

There was a point up until a few years ago, where everyone (95%) had a Windows computer and they would update it every few years. Now those people are being served by ChromesOS/OSX/Android/iOS. Android alone has 1 billion active users in the most important sector (Mobile first). Those devices/machines are just now getting MS Office. but it no longer matters. In a BYOD world there is plenty of incentive to make the apps work in the cloud or as a service and that means on any and all devices. Once the apps are on osx/chromesOS/Android/iOS then MS and their strangle hold of Office/Exchange/Active Directory doesn't matter nearly as much. It is getting easier to move away from MS when it used to be impossible.
