Submission + - "Expert" claims scientists prone to be ter

byronf writes: Rohan Gunaratna, a supposed "expert" on terrorism, claims that technical people are more susceptible to being terrorists. Rohan is the author of a book called "Inside Al Qaeda", and head of Terrorism Research at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Rohan appeared on CNN's "American Morning" show where he was asked to comment on the latest bombing in Glasgow. Anchor John Roberts asked the question: "You say Rohan that people who study science are particularly vulnerable to recruitment. Why is that?" Rohan responded: "It is because those who are in the technical professions, lack an understanding of religion. And Osama bin Laden and those ideologues are constantly misrepresenting the religion to attract recruits. And a person who has very limited understanding of religion and the arts may be more vulnerable, more susceptible". The transcript is here.
