But as the Hindenburg and the Mythbusters will tell you, hydrogen is dangerous. Recently Grecian researchers have theorized a nano-structure that is compliant with the DOE's 2010 goals of hydrogen storage. From the article, "The scientists' calculations showed that their so-called 'pillared graphene' could theoretically store up to 41 grams of hydrogen per liter, almost matching the DOE's target (45 grams of hydrogen per liter) for transportation applications." Hopefully it will make hydrogen cars fiscally sensible as well as safe."
