Submission + - Pervasive Computing Opens to the Masses (sentilla.com)

ee_moss writes: Sentilla Corporation was unveiled earlier this week, bringing with it a massive change in the wireless sensor network communities. Using a Java virtual machine running on microcontrollers with as little as 48kB ROM and 10kB RAM, Sentilla hopes to make wireless sensor and control networks easier for developers to learn and deploy. From their website, "If you can develop Java software, you are on your way to creating a pervasive computing application in minutes — such as monitoring assets, protecting infrastructure, analyzing environmental conditions, or any of the multitude of other applications that interact with the physical world." The creators of this technology were also some of the founders of the open-source TinyOS community.
