Is there a study or research done on the health aspects? I would imagine putting powered circuitry into your eyes is a recipe for disaster. Something that is deemed as safe as todays contact lenses would be the only thing I would ever even want to try.

Also... optically speaking would you be able to read text that is effectively right against your eye? Can we focus clearly that closely?

Driving habits should be wired into our sub conscious & instinct. I've had a situation where I was accelerating on a highway and the pedal was stuck under the matt (automatic honda). My first instinct was to hit the breaks, alright didn't do much, then I slapped it in neutral and while the engine was screaming at me I was able to pull the matt under and the accelerator was released. I slapped it back into drive & put on my hazards for a few moments while I composed myself (still driving at this point).

Another instance I had was following too closely and the guy in front of me decided to stop at the yellow light. I instantly slammed on my breaks but due to road conditions I rear ended him. Luckily the speed of my reaction minimized any potential injuries, although I still wrote off my car.

Two situations where my instinct saved my butt from a potentially fatal situation.

I did have one instance where I was sitting at a light and I saw a salt dump truck barreling down the road to the left of me incoming into the intersection - he lost control in the snow, figure that one out. I put the car in reverse put because I was so tense it slapped into park (still the automatic Honda). At that point I froze like a deer in headlights. Luckily this behemoth of a vehicle only took out my bumper as he turned int he last minute, but it's an example of where you have enough time to make the correct reaction, but you don't take it because you're just frozen.

For what it's worth, this last situation also preceded the previous two, so maybe it gave me nerves of steel and I'm better equipped to handle intense road situations, but I can see it happen. A side note, I think a manual transmission vehicle is better than automatic for obvious reasons.

Part of the reason why China is so far ahead of manufacturing. Because Canadian and US machine shops still use old slow CNC / NC Machines from the 70s & 80s. They could compete if they were better equipped. Wages are but a small cost of manufacturing.

In the mid 2000's I was still helping with RS232 serial port connections so they could upload their G Codes into the Fanuc controller.

I was in one (in Toronto anyway). I thought the dude was going to go through the intersection but instead slammed on his breaks. No one else was making any left turns on the other side so it would have been alright. Oh well, my fault it seems, but now I don't drive (live downtown) and have less of a chance to break traffic laws.

If I were to ever get kicked off the account that I'm paying for (Rogers Extreme in this case), then I would speak to my family members, have them sign a letter with their account #s and just say "Please re-instate this account or these account #s are going to be moved to competitors." If they wouldn't comply I would: Cancel & Switch the following to competitors: - my Rogers cell - my Rogers Internet (Extreme) - my Rogers TV - my mom's Rogers TV & Internet - my sister's Rogers TV & Internet - my brother's Rogers TV & Internet That's about...$400 / month in lost revenue. I would pay for the setup fees for my family in this case so they weren't inconvenienced.

People are already breaking one law or another. Let's see, the most common laws I see being broken without a thought:
- Speeding
- copyright infringement on the internet
- jay walking
- marijuana use
- (NEW)average user with a wireless network, unsecured or secured.

We're all criminals.

I signed up for that do not call list, and then almost immediately realized "Hey... I'm not getting any telemarketing calls. Why would I put my phone number on there now?" so I took it off immediately. Instinct paid off!

So what happens if you "accidentally" look at child porn? Can you sue the government for failing to protect you from illegal material? Since you're no longer given to choice to look at the stuff but are blocked automatically, if you happen upon a website where it's hosted I would imagine you can hold them liable for accidentally clicking on something illegal.
