BaysideAli writes: So it appears that while Google has always been a company of firsts (despite the obvious and infinite debate surrounding every first in the IT world), they have definitely struck gold with their latest invention. Taking advantage of the fiber optic cables most major cities have already installed throughout their main sewage systems, Google is offering free high-speed wireless internet access through these fiber-optic nodes in the sewer via your toilet. Flush the cable down, let it feed its way through and around the unnecessary feces caused by the current internet monopolies diarrhea of your revenue, and into the giant world of free high-speed internet. To think, that at the beginning of April in just 2007, Google would be able to not only crawl most of the viable web, but now offer an alternative to the choices (or if you are most people, choice) of overpriced, under serviced high-speed internet servers for free and through easy installation that anyone toilet-trained can do. Rebelgecko writes: Today, Google has introduced their new TiSp. Though unfortunately it is currently Windows only, Mac and Linux support is currently in the works. Three speeds are offered: The Trickle, Number 2, and the Royal Flush. While the Number 2 and Royal Flush are not free ($9.95 and $24.95, respectively), the "Trickle" is entirely advertisement supported. Signal is guaranteed in the bathroom which TiSP is installed in. Even more revolutionary, TiSP will be heavily integrated with Google Checkout. Any packages purchased with Google Checkout can be sent directly to your bathroom! Most of the comments on their help forum seem positive, though there seem to be occassional networking issues. It is unknown whether it assigns I.P.'s freely or not.

Bill Stubbs writes "NVIDIA has admitted to a killer bug in all GeForce 8800GTX/GTS cards, and will recall all affected cards and replace them. 'An NVIDIA engineer, who wishes to remain anonymous, has just clued us in on the whole deal. This engineer claims that while allegations of poor gaming performance are correct, the reason is not really poor drivers. Brace yourself for the truth: Right after the G80 was taped out, NVIDIA discovered a bug in the vertex shader that causes the GPU to generate slightly incorrect geometry transformation data. The difference was minimal enough to escape attention but it was significant enough to render a scene incorrectly.' The article also links to a secret website which will allow gamers to purchase Nvidia cards at cost."
