Yeah, there's a line that might be somewhat blurry, but I'll worry about clarifying things when it happens. I don't have to decide everything right now.

However, there are some things that are clearly not fair. Will the trial be secret? Absolutely not fair. Will significant evidence be blocked? Also not fair. So there is some clarity.

You seem to have misunderstood my question. That's ok, it wasn't very clear. Specifically, your assertion, "you are not free to create works using someone else's characters even meeting criteria 1-4 above" sounds like an interesting assertion that I have never heard before.

If you have references for that, it would be very interesting. But I'm pretty sure characters can fall under fair use, just like any other copyright.

As I've said before, if he's really this stand up guy, why did he run? IF he really had good and legal reasons to do what he did, take it to court and face the music.

Snowden seems like a stand-up guy, Assange seems like a moron and a jerk. In either case, focusing on the person distracts from what matters: the problems in the US government.

The main difference is that you're likely to do "Insert 1 in master, 5 in detail, 1 in master, 5 in detail", batching them in groups of 1 and N, when the correct way is to insert all the rows in master, then all the rows in details (batching in smaller groups if transaction size is a problem).

I'll try it out.

Your point isn't even related. "Two wrongs don't make a right." From a purely logical viewpoint, you are right: both parties are wrong and bad.

My original point wasn't a logical derivation, it was an observation: that you are one of those people who can see faults in the 'other' side, but somehow overlooks those same faults in your preferred side. Which is odd because generally you seem like a rather intelligent chap (in fact, I shouldn't have insulted you, but if I didn't respect you, I would have rolled my eyes and moved on).
