Since you get to post anecdotal evidence as "proof"...

My electrical is underground (so is my cable). In the last 18 months or so, our power has gone out 3 times. Every time it was due to the above ground wiring before it got to our neighborhood where it went underground. It's about 2 blocks away, but above ground. As soon as they fixed that (mostly due to trees falling during a storm), my power came back on without any intervention in my neighborhood.

That suggests to me that above ground lines are not necessarily more reliable.

Except that auto-vacuuming has been in place since 8.4 or so, which came out years ago. You don't have to vacuum by hand unless you want to (and most of the time you don't need to).

They switched pumps to liters in the 70s due to the oil crisis driving prices up. Most pumps at the time couldn't show more than $0.999 per gallon, so they switched to liters (or half gallons) to keep the pumps working.

But it's not even the best for *nix because Intellij Idea exists.

It was made for $6.4 million, in 1984. At the time (I saw it when it came out) it was terrifying and very new and well done (comparatively). You're comparing a 30 year old movie to what could be done today. Watching it today is kind of cheesy (mono soundrack and all), but at the time it was great (and the story is still good today).

I do on my laptop because at work I use a docking station and things get wonky if I try to undock. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it's basically just easier to shutdown.

Only thing really holding some back is an API so that things like Wordpress can automatically push updates to it.

Sorry you live in an area that has crappy theaters. Tons of theaters in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area has stadium style seating now. Lots of room in comfy seats. People can walk in your row right in front of you and you don't even have to move (I'm 6').

I've been using Harmony remotes (550s) with my 2 XMBC installs (one Mac, one Windows) for about 2 years and have yet to touch a keyboard.xml file. If you select a Windows Media Center setup for the Windows one it just works. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is "page up"/"page down" (which does work on the Mac, but I don't remember what I have that setup as).
