Sure, its possible that: A: NASA made a huge mistake and for some reason the scientists gave them a petrified tree... B: Someone risked jailtime to steal a moon rock just before it was given as a gift C: They switched the rock and no one looked at the origional photographs of the presentation of the moon rock during the insurance evaluation to see if it was still the real rock.
