Bingo! Lose the humans in the craft and you can reclaim all that mass required for life support and either run lighter or with more fuel / payload and less restrictions on G-forces. The metal can take more punishment than the meat.
It's sounds more like they're being operated by a Coal / Oil company that wants to see nuclear energy banned everywhere.
Seriously. [though I'll take mod +funny too] Buick drivers (typically elderly) would benefit greatly from this technology as it would grant them improved safety and autonomy. And society as a whole would benefit as the elderly with autodrive would present fewer road hazards, and would be able to stay out of assisted living for a longer time thus helping to keep the cost of assisted living down.
And within 30 years, I'll need cars to do the driving for ME!
I can't wait.
This was modded funny, but it's only funny because it's Informative and true. Starbucks is awful unless it's mixed with other flavorings.
Yes, we should all focus on really important things like Bradley's gender identity and not wasting any more time on all that trivial information about what the government is doing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contents_of_the_United_States_diplomatic_cables_leak
Good to see priorities are in order.
And yet Rove, Libby, and Cheney walk free...
Choose to believe you are, in fact, a potato. How'd that work for you?
Still certain belief is volitional?
I think there is a common failure to understand how belief works. You've used the word "choose" in regards to belief as though belief were a matter of volition. I do not believe that the process of belief works like that. I think it is an involuntary process.
Perhaps a better understanding of the process of belief would help us to correct errant beliefs?
"Human Level AI"? Humans aren't exactly doing a wonderful job out there on the streets.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if the current autonomous systems are already safer than human drivers. Are they going to be infallible? No. But we need to compare the overall safety rates of computer controlled vehicles vs. human controlled vehicles and see what is better.
Tell him it was God's will that he was fired, and if he pursues the lawsuit he's doubting God's plan.
Don't sell your stock in the Post-It note company after all.
Maybe we can at least haz cats-with-thumbz?
"You're an idiot"
"You're just another jerk trying to use an ad hominem attack instead of presenting a valid argument."
I'm confused. Are you arguing in favor of or in opposition to ad hominem attack???
And, is it you Scotty? Since we know Scott's not at all averse to using pseudonyms to attack his critics:
from Scott 'all men are naturally rapists' Adams...
He must be sure that a little information will help us for those brief moments when we're not obsessing about rape.
Then again, considering what Republicans and Democrats have done to us, I can see how government got Scott's attention.
