Comment Re:FreeBSD (Score 1) 755

Full disclosure: It's been many years since I tried FreeBSD, but I rather liked it for the light server install I made.

Anyway, you make it sound like the participants of the BSD forums were maliciously not helping you, but the reality was probably more like they simply didn't have enough people (or any!) with your hardware combination. This may be a valid concern, especially for a company, but who thinks FreeBSD is trying to realistically compete head-to-head with RHEL (and by extension CentOS) especially in regards to support?

Actually, you're the one engaging in misdirection. All it takes is a few minutes of reading pol on either chan site to see that the boards are primarily made up of white supremacist posters, and it only takes a glance at the board listing of 8chan to see that they harbour actual pedophiles as well.

The /pol/s are troll boards and if you spent anytime there you would know it. It's not fucking stormfront.

However, do keep calling people "sjw" when they spout the truth -it helps people to realize that you GG scum lie to yourselves as well as to the rest of us.

I call you sjw when you conspire to flagrantly slander others using an "us" vs "them" approach just to justify your ego. That's what makes the ANTI-GG people the real fascists.

Also keep in mind that Tim Cook is brilliant too. There probably isn't a better tech CEO anywhere when it comes to hardball negotiations, logistical strategy and planning.

I'm genuinely interested, but what evidence is there of that? So far, my impressions have been he's the Steve Ballmer of Apple. That is, not the visionary but trying to maintain the status quo and futilely trying to break into other markets. Maybe that's enough to be more brilliant than other tech CEOs though (e.g., the MS trojan CEO at Nokia that tanked them)?

Notorious 8chan Board Has History Wiped After Federal Judge's Doxing 240

AmiMoJo writes On Monday, imageboard site 8chan's "baphomet" subboard, an Internet destination known for hosting aggressive "doxing" posts, received a major history wipe the day after one of its users posted the personal information of a federal judge in the Silk Road case. A follow-up post by baphomet's "Board Owner" account stated that "HW," a reference to site founder Frederick "hotwheels" Brennan, deleted "the SSN posts" and told the baphomet board founder, previously identified via an associated Twitter handle as Benjamin Biddix, to "lay low." The same day baphomet's "Board Owner" announced a "doxing for hire" service due to "running low on funds."

What about Iron Man vs. Hulk? That would be a matchup! :)

From the trailers it looks like we'll see in the new Avengers. But the answer will be Iron Man in the Hulkbuster suit. As for the others, the whole premise is that Spider-Man is like a spider and can pick up MANY times his own weight, so I think you are underestimating his chances against the others. He may be scrawny but I always imaged him being able to go toe-to-toe with the Hulk by dropping a building on him or something.

Every time I think of Gamergate, I'm reminded of that scene in PCU where the protestors break out the blank placards and start writing the latest liberal cause-of-the-moment slogans on them. Some people are just always looking for an oppressor to blame for all their problems, and some cause to give their pathetic lives some meaning. And being the drama queens they are, they feed on any criticism as further evidence that they're being oppressed.

I'm confused, are you talking about the GG or the anti-GG people? Maybe that's implicitly your point and this is just a good example of one of those first world problems.

My understanding is their market capitalization or whatever tanked after Elop and, although a well-known brand, they were really struggling -- Elop just buried the dagger and shamelessly sold them out (figuratively and literally). Your advice is valid though, I think smaller companies have never benefit long-term from a close partnership with MS.
