Submission + - Codeweavers Announces CrossOver For Games (codeweavers.com)

s31523 writes: "Many PC enthusiasts site the lack of gaming support on Linux as a reason to stay with the Windows OS. There is new hope on the horizon. Codeweavers, makers of CrossOver (commercial version of WINE), have announced a new product called CrossOver Games. With promises to "allow you to install and play some of the most popular games available for Windows on your Mac or Linux system, all without needing to buy or run a copy of Windows.", this may be the product many people use to make the switch from Windows to Linux. Some example games Codeweavers cite are "Guild Wars, World of Warcraft, and many games through Steam, including Team Fortress 2, Portal, Half Life 2, Civilization IV, Peggle, and many others.""

I've also written a brief description of how Stefan Dösinger and a bunch of other great Wine developers essentially forced us to launch this product. We're very grateful for all of their hard work on Wine, especially now that I can play Civ IV as part of my job."
