That's the legal age in most places of Canada to start working, what's the problem? In Ontario you'd need to be 15 to work in a factory. I had my first job (part time) when I was that age.

Why would you burn a DVD? Just buy a nice fast $10 USB stick.
The best way to do it is to read the text and take notes from it with pencil and paper before the lecture. Then, go to the lecture and listen. Maybe take a few notes here or there. If you didn't understand something, ask someone or go back to the text.
When it comes time to study for an exam, refer back to your notes, and the text if necessary.
Well, if you're so paranoid, get some tape and cover over the camera and microphone, or take it apart and disconnect it.

I've never actually seen them, but from what I've heard they use some rare connector that can be purchased individually, but for a crazy price. And more annoyingly, its a different connector as used on the other Sennheisers.
The cables on the HD800 are removable, however as far as I know there are no aftermarket/replacement cables available yet.
