The Chromebook old sold the iPad in schools for 1 simple reason. Economics. The Chromebook costs $200 while the iPad costs $500. The Chromebook also has a lot of other nice thing going for it in the school environment, such as being able to actually type up a document on it without spending even more money to purchase a keyboard. That, and students can log into any Chromebook and instantly bring up their own account with their own files. In my kids' school, they no longer have a computer lab. When they need to use a computer to type up a document, they get one of the Chromebooks, log in, and start typing. It's very easy for the school because they don't need a Chromebook for every single student because they are so easily shared, and they don't have to worry about managing a bunch of Windows boxes with file servers and all the pain that goes along with that.

If they dont have evidence they dont know they are criminals.

Most people are too stupid to use them. There is a reason that US market cars are dumbed down compared to Japan Market and Europe Market.

Standard resistive Touchscreen tech is dirt freaking cheap. I can get 7" resistive types for $9.00 each all day long at single quantities. If I was a car maker I could get them at less than $1.00 each in 1000+ quantities.

Honestly this IR system is a rehash of really old tech that is just not needed.

What is needed is the important buttons existing as REAL HARD BUTTONS. the systems that are 100% touch are complete crap. Yes I do want my hard buttons back on android, the on screen home button is really 100% crap.

That's one of the reasons for the move away from wood to plastic pallets, I know of no bug that can live inside a plastic pallet. Plastic is also a lot more durable so you can use it a lot more times before it fails and needs to be disposed of.

Perhaps at a speed appropriate to the road, the weather, the time of day, the other traffic, the proximity of junctions for which you may need to stop.

You know, the same as most people that get safely through a day driving.

If you absolutely definitively want a single fixed speed at which we're safe while you're driving I can only suggest 0mph

Go back to the HP 150 from 1983.

That PC had a touch screen using the same tech, and it was a bad idea at that time, the idea of touch screens in some solutions haven't become better. It's OK to have a touch screen on a phone or small handheld device, but in a vehicle in motion it's a traffic hazard. On a PC with a mouse and keyboard it's just stupid.

I preferred Quake.
