Submission + - "I accidentally started a Wikipedia hoax" 5

Andreas Kolbe writes: The Daily Dot's EJ Dickson reports how she accidentally discovered that a hoax factoid she added over five years ago as a stoned sophomore to the Wikipedia article on “Amelia Bedelia, the protagonist of the eponymous children’s book series about a ‘literal-minded housekeeper’ who misunderstands her employer’s orders”, had not just remained on Wikipedia all this time, but come to be cited by a Taiwanese English professor, in “innumerable blog posts and book reports”, as well as a book on Jews and Jesus. It's a cautionary tale about the fundamental unreliability of Wikipedia. And as Wikipedia ages, more and more such stories are coming to light.

Not the case. Reston virus, an ebola strain was airborne, and research labs from various countries, include USA and Canada have shown that ariborne ebola can be found.
However there are no reports that this strain is airborne, or at least the governments of the world are not letting that information out in fear of all the problems that would bring........

I use tripadvisor all the time and generally find the review to good. You do get the standard,"loud birthday party next door, 1 star place sucked", which can be easily ignored. If you look at most of the reviews of this place they are mostly first review, or all reviews are only from that city, all of those can be ignored.
Also because of the nature of the people, and because it is more travel based reviews tend to be older, putting reviews up there you don't run into the Yelp problems.

The state laws came about because cars use to be sold how directly from the manufacturers and that lead to lots of problems with lack of support.
With cars being the second biggest purchase, besides a house, states started to require that you had to have service and support of warranty, recalls, etc from where you purchase the vehicle or close to where you live. If you move away from where the dealer is, that is your responsibility.
Tesla wants to get away from that where if you need support you call them, and they determine over the phone if they will provide support; if they don't then you can take your vehicle to California and they will look it over. If they do you are then required to go to a third party garage, which most can do only limited work. If those garages cannot do the warranty work your vehicle will be shipped out of state to a place that can do the work.
It is not that weird of a law most countries have the same laws of protection.

Because as the summary says it allows governments to control it. As opposed to other methods it would hard to remove without surgery and the government could control the passwords.

Just so you are informed. Religious reasons for no vaccination is very low on the list and is mainly from groups such as the Amish and the main reason Amish don't vaccinate is not for religious reason but items such as since they are closed community the risk is not as high.

The biggest reasons for people not going with vaccines are not trusting of "big" science and vaccines are loaded with all those chemicals, similar to GMO.

It was agreed that Ulbriht is the only person who has a possible right to the bitcoins so he and USMS agreed that because of the volatility of the Bitcoin markets that the USMS would have the right to sell the coins as they want and then the monies from that sale would go into a deposit fund until the court case has been decided upon.
So the coins were not seized, just sold off and the value, at the time of sale, is now waiting a court decision.
