Seeing how NFC typically needs hardware support, it would be starting with this generation of devices, and unless Apple does something different from the usual "downgrade existing top tier models and drop the bottom" then only the top end and most expensive models for the next couple years will have it.

Unless they sell a lower-priced iWatch or some other dongle that "expands" the existing iPhone range to support NFC (which would actually be pretty smart of them, so I wouldn't be surprised) or unless the last couple generations of devices have sold with disabled NFC hardware buried inside, it's not unreasonable to say that there will be NFC versus non-NFC fragmentation for at least another year.

So why do you get that privilege but I do not? You insist that I am part of an established party while demanding that I view you otherwise.

I'm considering a multicore chip with mondo RAM, mostly to do cloudy kinds of things without running up a big AWS bill.
It did occur to me that, by pushing non-sensitive data to the cloud, though, one could really cut down on local storage requirements.

On the one hand, I don't doubt that there is substantial truth to the litany of allegations. Even if you want to try to be an Ollie North apologist, he and old "photographic memory" Poindexter really jacked it through the roof.

I love how you, again, discarded the overwhelming majority of the text of my comment in favor of your favorite snippet. Nonetheless, as much as you try to assign me to a given party - or to claim that Obama is somehow secretly a part of some grand political movement / conspiracy that is counter to everything he has done to date as president - you are at least equally as much a member of the GOP. Although when you say "OUR" rather than "YOUR" you get closer to the truth than you have been in a long, long, time. What Obama has actually DONE as president is vastly closer to the goals that you champion than any of the ones that I ever have. Why you keep claiming that we are femtoseconds away from some grand about-face - when you should instead be celebrating the fact that by and large you are getting from legislation basically everything you have asked for - is beyond me.
