AlanS2002 writes: "In its ongoing litigation against International Business Machines Corp., the SCO Group Inc. on Monday said IBM hurt SCO's relationship with several high-tech powerhouses, causing SCO's market share and revenues to plummet. In a hearing before U.S. District Judge Dale Kimball, an attorney for Lindon-based SCO said IBM "pressured" companies to cut off their relationships with SCO. And "the effect on SCO was devastating and it was immediate," Mark James said. IBM on Monday argued for summary judgment on the matters of unfair competition and business interference, but SCO contends that a jury trial is needed."

AlanS2002 writes: "Linux.com is reporting that Linus Torvalds is putting his money where is mouth is after a recent dispute between him and the Gnome developers in which he encouraged people to use KDE instead of Gnome. Linus had previously claimed that Gnome developers treat users like idiots in not allowing the user to more fully configure desktop functionality. So Linus has submitted some patches to help remedy this."

In the interview Richard answers some questions which seem to be the standard for Stallman interviews. Beyond this Stallman talks about why Linus Torvalds is not such a righteous dude and how Apple is as evil as Microsoft. Also discussed is the ease of use of F/OSS software as compared to proprietary software (such as Windows or OS X), the compatibility of F/OSS with market capitalism, the current status of human freedom and the reasons for Stallman's passion for the Free Software movement."

In this paper we put forward an argument to the effect that the terms of the BSD require BSD code and modifications to BSD code to be licensed under the terms of the BSD license. We look at some possible consequences and observe that this licensing requirement could have serious impacts on the unwary.""
