Strategy Analytics researcher Peter King recently said his analysts were surprised that DVD player sales continued to be so strong against Blu-ray players. That reminded me of what some critics have suspected: Blu-ray really hasn't caught on — and probably never will. "I'm surprised DVDs have continued to hang on," said King, referring to the fact that player sales of over 20 million units in the U.S. last year were pretty much evenly split between DVD and Blu-ray models. Blu-ray discs and players are clearly superior to DVDs, offering more features and a better picture overall. So why haven't shoppers been impressed?
I never said it was a boxer engine. I just asked how they differ. Watching the video doesn't help me. As I said, I'm not a car guy. I'm a solid-state kind of guy. I am not good with moving parts. I don't think it's a bad thing to be able to ask questions.
One thing you can do, which is what I ALWAYS do, is go into add/remove programs. For office, there is an entry to completely uninstall ALL the animated helpers!
I too have an Opp upscaling DVD player (DV-980H). I always read comments like yours about skipping the normally unskippable clips (UOP) with an Oppo, but I can never figure out how. Can you tell me was the magic is?
Ain't that the true! The last time I was contacted was for a defect in certain brand of TV. The TV cost $1000. The lawyers got something like $10 million. Each person in the class action of a $30 coupon to be another crappy TV from the same company.
Yes! This is exactly my issue with them: not that they deleted the books, but the fact that they COULD. They actually built this functionality into the device.
