The Taliban have a long history of working with Primates. As early as 2001 they were well documented as working with one Johnny Chimpo (aka Johannes Chimpo) who would run around with his butler doing naughty things. Luckily for them his butler was there to persuade him to not let the great Satan tempt him with western culture and that he must remain true to his Taliban warlords. You can find out more about this and the Taliban's Primate related connection with the American drug trade from the documentary described here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0247745/

Would someone tell me how this happened? We were the fucking vanguard of quantum transistors in this country. The University of New South Wales' Centre for Quantum Computer Technology (CQCT) Mach7 was the quantum transistor to own. Then the other guy came out with a seven-atom transistor. Were we scared? Hell, no. Because we hit back with a little thing called the Mach7Turbo. That's seven atoms and an aloe strip. For moisture. But you know what happened next? Shut up, I'm telling you what happened--the bastards went to six atoms. Now we're standing around with our cocks in our hands, selling seven atoms and a strip. Moisture or no, suddenly we're the chumps. Well, fuck it. We're doing 5 atoms!

Actually they do. There were numerous times in Iraq that we would shoot at mortar rounds or artillery rounds until they blew up, usually using 7.62 from the inside of a tank several hundred meters away. Of course it may have had something to do with the tracer rounds and may not apply to normal ammunition, we never really bothered to thoroughly test.

I don't think you're looking at this in the right light. For one, you're going to end up polluting the air by burning all that plastic in the volcano. Two, who is going to pay for it? It's not economically viable. I have a much better solution. That big boat forms blocks with round protruding bits on top. The smaller boats then position them next to each other in the sea. The helicopter then places certain blocks on top of each other. The end product looks like this! It is then leased out to pirates as a hideout.

Since when do RedHat exams have answers? They are all practical tests now (and have been for a long time I think). The "questions" are:
1) boot this computer, doesn't work? Fix it. Still doesn't work? Fix some other stuff.
2) create some users and give them access to this and that
3) install and configure this program and that program
4) now install this infrastructure resource and make it work
5) hurry up and finish, you're almost out of time!

FWIW Microsoft has even added some practical content, but they are nowhere near as good as the RedHat exams.

Submission + - Potential cure for sleep discovered

An anonymous reader writes: Wired has an article on what might be "a promising sleep-replacement drug". In a test with monkeys it was discovered that snorting Orexin A "reversed the effects of sleep deprivation [...] allowing them to perform like well-rested monkeys on cognitive tests".

The research follows the discovery by Siegel that the absence of orexin A appears to cause narcolepsy. That finding pointed to a major role for the peptide's absence in causing sleepiness. It stood to reason that if the deficit of orexin A makes people sleepy, adding it back into the brain would reduce the effects, said Siegel.

"What we've been doing so far is increasing arousal without dealing with the underlying problem," he said. "If the underlying deficit is a loss of orexin, and it clearly is, then the best treatment would be orexin."
