Tiek00n writes: Florida Senator Marco Rubio, one of the co-sponsors of PIPA, has dropped his support for the bill, and is encouraging co-sponsor Harry Reid to stop rushing the bill through congress. "As a senator from Florida, a state with a large presence of artists, creators and businesses connected to the creation of intellectual property, I have a strong interest in stopping online piracy that costs Florida jobs. However, we must do this while simultaneously promoting an open, dynamic Internet environment that is ripe for innovation and promotes new technologies." "Congress should listen and avoid rushing through a bill that could have many unintended consequences. Therefore, I have decided to withdraw my support for the Protect IP Act."

An anonymous reader writes: Naysayers often scoff at the amount of attention devoted to Apple products, claiming that Apple fanboys are merely victims of the RDF, and therefore unable to think rationally. Steve Jobs is a cult leader, they say, and the Mac masses follow him blindly and willingly.

But here’s the thing, the reality distortion field doesn’t exist. Sure, Steve Jobs can pitch a product like no other, but his presentation skills have nothing to do with the millions upon millions of Apple products that are happily purchased by consumers every year.

Anonymous Coward writes: "For years, students could spend their math classes playing various stripped-down clones of Doom and on their graphing calculator, but thanks to MRaklopaz, now they can even play the real game from ID software on the TI-Nspire. A video of the game in action is available there. It seems that Doom is on anything with a screen, these days."
