There has been an active Linux community for these games for quite some time. Many can run on DOSBox or WINE with alittle tweaking.
As well, a lot of theses games have hi-def visuals available as a substitute and other enhancements.

Mageia handles the nvidia driver within it's packaging system. Automatic updates along with the kernel, easy installs, no problems. It's been this way since the Mandriva days. Mageia's a nice, no-hassle distro.
While surprisingly effective IRL, not so much on the Internet.
