Why do I keep thinking that it's Mega Man's head? Doesn't anyone else see this? Oh well, I guess if mozilla folks make a little pink icon for their next product, I'll start seeing Rush...

Role Playing (Games)

Journal Journal: online golf rpg

Just have to say that Shot Online is a great time suck ;). Been playing it for the better part of a couple weeks now. It's funny how there's a lot of real golfers mixed with RPG players. It's a little unrealistic (putting is like you're on a pane of glass, putting sidespin on a ball automatically makes it go farther) but it's a great game if you like 'golfpg's.

Journal Journal: Diggin digg 1

http://digg.com/

You know I'm starting to like this more than slashdot (oh god, say it isn't so!)
+ A little more turnover in stories.
+ Good stories still float to the top.
+ No flame retarded flamers.
+ built in SPELL CHECK comments.

- force of habit must be changed from /. to dig.

The Internet

Journal Journal: Wow, a completely tasteless blog

http://durrrrr.blogspot.com/

Was slightly more disturbing when she was still alive. Now, it's just an old and tasteless joke blog.
It is funny, however, to look at hte posts and to see the polarization of the posts.

{some mofo} Terri, blah blah, {insert bad joke}
{mofo2} Sweet dude.
{anonymous} All you people are going to f#$%in hell.

Journal Journal: maps 1

Online maps:

maps.yahoo.com
maps.google.com
www.map24.com
www.mapquest.com

Funny how just 2 years ago, it was just mapquest and yahoo was a crappy contender. Now Mapquest sucks (slow, no larger maps ability, no satellite overlay anymore), yahoo is fast and simple, map24 is a neat one to play with, and google's just plain rocks.

funny how
this was modded as funny.
I'm still mad at the computer. hopefully I'll fix it during the holidays.

Journal Journal: googlewhacking

Hmm, I've found the following:

flagellum truants
veranda alimonies
diminutively bayou
vanner bolshevik

The earlier ones (on the bottom) are pretty lame, but I kinda like flagellum truants. I reminds me of some Far Side cartoon where there was a teacher amoeba lecturing some student amobeas. Hmm, I should really look up that sometime in the far side collection books I have.

http://www.googlewhack.com/ ...This word came to me while googlewhatnot-ing:
"peristopholes"

I found no hits for it, but I swear I've heard it somewhere. Grr. I hope I'm not completely misspelling it though.

Journal Journal: Mobygames is cool

Hmm, they accepted my game reviews. Cool. I guess no one else remembers anything about those old Atari ST games. I sure liked those FTL games though. I wonder what happend to those developers?

I wrote a review for them becaus I felt that no one was remembering those games (see link below for Sundog). Kind of sad really. Sad that I remeber them and that no one else does ;)

Journal Journal: Cool Saturn picts

Go here:

I love raw data. Even though they are not annotated or cleaned, it's fun to see the real stuff pulled from the camera.

Finally have excellent karma! Now I can fearlessly troll and write angry tirade-comments.

Software

Journal Journal: sharing psc 2210xi

God, it took long enough to figure this out. To get the HP psc2210xi to print over a windows network (i.e. shared on one computer), you must add the printer on the networked computer as an HP Deskjet 870c (see here.)

Windows

Journal Journal: Windows 2k tip (erasing usernames from ftp username list)

Grr, after searching on google for awhile now, this answer was so simple.

If you are looking to erase a bad username (say you put in your password by accident in the username field ;) ), you just have to do three things:

1. Open regedit.
2. Do a find for the password.
3. In some key that should look like:
  My Computer\HKEY_USERS\\Software\Microsoft\Ftp\Accounts\

you'll find a key with your password. Delete it and volia!

Television

Journal Journal: Random simpsons ramblings

I don't know why I feel like this, but I feel the need to record that Time and Punishment was the best Simpsons err, 'episode section', ever. I don't find it as funny now as I did when I first saw it, but when I did see it, I was basically having uncontrolled fits of laughter for the whole time the episode was going on. I think that was one of the few times ever that I was literally ROFL.
The most recent ROFL moment for me was when I saw an interview on Conan O'Brien with one of the old Kids in the Hall guys. Not Dave or the short guy. Can't remember which one But he was mucking up whatever plan they were trying to adhere to. That was wonderful.
