Social engineering, use evolution and AGW as tests to remove undesirables from the species. Then test for things like civil disobedience, denial of anything deemed as fact by a government panel and take their kids to a state run education center. Because scientist now know everything, instead of funding expensive experiments they can be put to work raising children. Since all of the Slashdot crowd are also experts in how children should be raised they can back fill where no PHD's are available.

With almost any decent job these days requiring a 4-year college degree, what the hell do you expect? Unless your parents are upper-class or have had the foresight to save up the money (with no intervening crises to eat it up), your only hope to get anything better than slave wages at some manufacturing plant (that's probably going to China at any minute) is to get a highly-competitive scholarship or take out a student loan. And there are only so many scholarships to go around.

I expect them to try something novel like work for it! I paid for my own education by joining the military and going to school while working. I ended up with 3 degrees and working for NASA. The Air force paid for 70% tuition and I paid for the rest and books. No loans! My parents wouldn't even pay for community college. But guess what I did just fine! I have 2 daughters that I have paid the first two years of college. They are now working and paying for the rest! My oldest daughter has a loan for $5k and graduates next spring. That's called being responsible!

If your breaking the law by hacking them, whose to say that what you released is even real? Whenever you commit the same crime to expose a crime you lose all credibility. Fighting ethical misconduct by committing your own misconduct gains nothing! You end up being as big a piece of excrement as the people you say your trying to expose. Looking forward to hearing about more arrests. At News Corp International and members of Anonymous! Knock ! Knock!

If its anything like the Air Force DCGS-1 its a mixture of both. Drones are operated in theater far enough away from any action but close enough for control. Data is relayed to a stateside base, our case was Langley AFB. Individual segments of the system can be operated anywhere. That is where data is analyzed and compared with previous missions data. And then the reports are sent to theater commanders and units world wide VIA SIPRnet. At Langley our system was fully deployed to Saudi Arabia after the Gulf War, that changed after Khobar Towers. Then it was decided it was safer to use a much smaller foot print. They use a system called MOBSTR (Mobile Satellite Transmitter Receiver) which only required a maintenance staff and not the intelligence analysts. Unfortunately I was a Senior NCO in charge of the maintainers! Since the addition of drones the need for larger in theater segments were required. The ability to deploy is still a requirement for the entire system as I understand it. So even the stateside system is in trailers that can be connected to for a large facility, Aircraft external power units and HVAC units were deployed. The trailers had raised floors and everything you would expect from a data center.

Your mean DCGS-1? The A stands for Army. I used to work at the 10th Intel Squadron, Langley AFB. Before it was called DCGS-1 it was called CARS (Contingency Airborne Reconnaissance System). It also didn't have any windows fail screens. Everything was UNIX (IRIX & Solaris) and just worked! I retired from there in Dec of 99.
