I know that illegal search and seizure, freedom of assembly and all that are pertinent here. If real, face bandana-wearing Anarchists are involved, well... I've seen some Anarchist "protests" in person that were very much not on the legal side of things. They involved destruction of public property and provoking police officers. If that's what these groups were meeting to plan, then there is some level of justification. Something in the realm of Conspiracy to Commit *insert felony here*.

FBI Burying Doc Showing US Officials Stole Nuclear Secrets? 347

BoingBoing is reporting that the FBI may be burying the existence of a document that proves US officials stole nuclear secrets for eventual sale to Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. "One of the documents relating to the case was marked 203A-WF-210023. Last week, however, the FBI responded to a freedom of information request for a file of exactly the same number by claiming that it did not exist. But The Sunday Times has obtained a document signed by an FBI official showing the existence of the file. Edmonds believes the crucial file is being deliberately covered up by the FBI because its contents are explosive. She accuses the agency of an 'outright lie.'"

Information Requested for NASA-Based MMORPG 144

Teancum writes "By now, most people are aware of the U.S. Army's video game, America's Army. It turns out that NASA has submitted a Request for Information for what would be a NASA-themed MMORPG of its own. The deadline for the proposals is February 15th. NASA's plans focus on education. 'A NASA-based MMO built on a game engine that includes powerful physics capabilities could support accurate in-game experimentation and research. It should simulate real NASA engineering and science missions in a medium that is comfortable and familiar to the majority of students in the United States today.' This certainly doesn't deserve to get thrown onto the traditional dust heap of educational proposals for a half-baked game that nobody will actually play."
