Nice try, but this has nothing to do with the Australian Government.

Telstra and other ISPs are implementing a blacklist that is managed by Interpol.

The same system is in use by some ISPs in the UK and other European countries.

And as far as the list goes, it is actually very conservative in its definition of child pornography, only classifying sites depicting minors under 13, not under 18.

Nothing to do with the Australian Government? You've go to be fucking joking. Do you think that Interpol asked Telstra and Optus to please start filtering this list of sites? It was the government who 'requested' the ISP's to start filtering. Interpol just happen to have a list that the Australian Government has decided to use. Interpol has a lot less power than you seem to think.

Matrix 2 and 3 had thought-provoking themes too. If you don't believe me, just fast-forward past the action scenes you dislike and focus on the storyline.

It's not just NSW that have banned laser pointers, a laser pointer over 1mw is a banned import into Australia. If you import one, it will be seized by Customs. To legally import one, you must get a firearms license issued by the police in your state of residence. It's against the law in most states (Queensland seem to be the exception) to be in possession of a laser pointer, of any colour, in a public place.

The Board of Taxations released a study 12 months ago that stated recovery of GST on single imports below $1000 was not economically viable. http://www.taxboard.gov.au/content/reviews_and_consultations/gst_to_cross_border_transactions/report/gst_cross_border_transactions_report.pdf.
My experience with importing stuff is that Customs clearance is very quick - same day for most postal articles, a bit longer if you're forced to use Fedex, DHL, etc.
Based on the backlash against retailers, I can't see the government taking a chance at pissing off voters.

This is not the same as admitting guilt. It's making a statement that has no supporting evidence. The article referred to made no mention of videos or pictures of the alleged infringement. When questioned by police, the person in question could just say ' I really didn't drive that fast, I just said that to compensate for having a tiny dick". It's not against the law to lie in a blog.
