This is why I love Slashdot

That's why I do most of my used game shopping from Amazon. Great prices and, overall, a great company that has given excellent customer support to me over the years (along with their subsidiaries, especially Woot).

From what history seems to show, Arabs controlled Palestinian lands from 1948-1967. Israel did not own the West Bank, Gaza or Jerusalem (nor were Jews allowed to visit Jerusalem). Seems you want to blame the Jews for that though.

To be fair, I scanned the entire comment section, assuming I'd be replying to this exact comment. That was the first thing I saw when I read the 21% drop. Glad I'm not the only one.

Isn't that because the current generation is 7 years old? You're actually shocked that fewer people are buying computers designed with 2005 technology?

That's all I want, not another Star Wars: Battlefront game. KOTOR was great, but I don't need another one. XW and TF were 2 of the greatest games ever made. X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter was a letdown and X-Wing Alliance, while good, wasn't as good as its predecessors.

Xbox 360 wasn't my favorite In terms of exclusives (although I did enjoy some of the XBL downloads). It was, however, hands down the best online experience of all 3 consoles. Wii was non-existent and XBL is far better than PSN. But that's just my opinion.

The problem isn't the "always online" part necessarily. The problem is the fact that a game disc will be tied to a single console, effectively eliminating the secondary market for used games like ebay, amazon and Gamestop.

Along the way, there were numerous failings - Windows 3.0, Windows 95 (while successful, was buggy) Windows ME, Windows Vista.

Good post.So what you're saying is that every-other Windows release is successful. Sales-wise and review-wise you'd be correct. We shall see what happens with Windows 9

I agree. As someone living in NYC at the time, none of our cell phones worked and television was knocked out for a while (I think it was CBS that was still broadcasting because their antenna was on the Empire State Building.).

A largely text-only site like Slashdot is the best scenario for such situations.

The masses don't know about this story yet. Once the Gay Marriage debate dies down a bit (or once the decision is released) and this becomes the next big court case, you will see overwhelming popular support for eliminating gene patents.

Then again, I supposed Citizens United is very unpopular too, and that seems to have passed...
