Good post.So what you're saying is that every-other Windows release is successful. Sales-wise and review-wise you'd be correct. We shall see what happens with Windows 9

I agree. As someone living in NYC at the time, none of our cell phones worked and television was knocked out for a while (I think it was CBS that was still broadcasting because their antenna was on the Empire State Building.).

A largely text-only site like Slashdot is the best scenario for such situations.

The masses don't know about this story yet. Once the Gay Marriage debate dies down a bit (or once the decision is released) and this becomes the next big court case, you will see overwhelming popular support for eliminating gene patents.

Then again, I supposed Citizens United is very unpopular too, and that seems to have passed...

I had a surprisingly good time spinning the globe and looking at weather around the world, and zooming in and out and learning a little geography along the way. I spent a good amount of time with it, to be honest. That was the great thing about it -- it was just a really nice 3D-ish/VR-ish globe that you could zoom in and out of, like Google Maps.

I did the exact same thing. I used to zoom all the way out until you saw outer space and stars behind Earth, then I'd spin the globe around like Superman.

I agree that people should be paid a living wage, but the problem is that a living wage in New York is very different than a living wage in India. Paying someone $100 for a week's worth of work may not buy food for your family of four, but it will in other parts of the world. I'm not saying that this is right, I'm just saying...
