Bad idea, unless you're in a very isolated location. The sound of a breaking window has a habit of bringing people out of the woodwork, and if you're running away, it's not gonna look very good. Might make more sense to:
1. Call 911 and announce what you're about to do.
2. Announce it to your surroundings at the top of your lungs.
3. Do it.
4. Remain at the scene.
