That is true. But the group that pirates and never purchases will NEVER purchase once cut off from illegal content. They'll just go get it from the library and rip it/copy it. The physical media loophole will always be there. What I find funny is that average "paranoid" pirate pays probably $15.00/month for Usenet, and $15.00/month for encrypted VPN. Most of these people would probably happily $30/month to Netflix or a service like it, if it had everything available.

If Glass-Stegall was never passed, these banks would have dabbled in bad behavior when they were much SMALLER and less likely to tank the entire US economy. By 2007 they would have been far wiser than they were when the shit hit the fan.

The biggest problem is not the deregulated banks, but the bailouts that kept bad banks in business. There were plenty of banks that didn't need a bailout. Instead of thinning the herd, and allowing the bad banks to fail and declare bankruptcy, we bailed them out with taxpayer dollars, and set them up to fail again, because no one learned their damn lesson. We had a great opportunity to get rid of all the bad banks, and instead we saved them, so they can tank the economy in the future.

Then stupid shit like Dodd-Frank passes that has ALL sorts of riders on it bought by lobbyists. Read about the Durbin amendment. That piece of legislation was practically written by the credit card companies.

I don't believe anyone will give me better service than Verizon. I expect them to give me the same crappy service Verizon gives me at a better price. The iPhone is for my wife. That's why I am waiting for the iPhone 5. I'm hopping on a Galaxy Nexus. The fact that Verizon was the ONLY carrier that released the Galaxy S III with a locked boot loader tells me that Verizon is a company that I don't want to stick with any more. To upgrade my phone now requires me to get into a plan that's going to cost me $30 more a month. If I switch to AT&T, I can get a plan that's $30 cheaper than I am paying now.

Before the TSA, most security at airports was private. The TSAs backscatter X-Ray machines have already been bypassed. Air Marshalls can be spotted a mile away on a plane. The "Freedom Gropes" we have to endure are completely insane.

Watching TSA agents detaining a woman because because she wouldn't let them x-ray her daughters breast milk is insane.

I will not walk through a backscatter x-ray machine for any reason. Personally, I'll not shower for a week and wear the same clothes. Then I'll pop 2 Viagra and request a freedom grope when I get to the TSA. Hopefully that will make the agent sexually assaulting me as uncomfortable as possible.

I'm going in on the 21st for a hip replacement. After that, my life is pretty much f*cked at airports. I will never be allowed to go anywhere without some type of enhanced pat down.

This insanity has to end.
