Out of interest what monitor ran at 1920x1600? For desk space, many 24 inch monitors can rotate 90 degrees so they have a small footprint. (e.g. Dell UP2414Q rotated will give you 2160x3840)

FWIW, at work I use 24" 4k monitors with 200% font scaling on Windows 7, and pretty much every application works fine. The only thing which doesn't scale is the command prompt window. Note that I am talking about the old font size selector in Control Panel which has been there for years and years - the first thing to do is to turn off all of that Aero crap.

Yes, I wonder the same thing. I use Pale Moon on a portable (Panasonic CF-U1) which has a reasonable amount of RAM (2 gigs) but the slowest hard disk you've seen since about 1988. The disk is an SSD but so slow it might as well be a floppy drive. Browsing is subject to freezes on disk activity and I guess that some of that might be due to the disk cache. Firefox's new code should help that, so it might make vanilla Firefox faster than Pale Moon on this machine.

Anecdotally, when I was on Morphine, the pain was still there. It was buried in my brain, but if I looked for it, I found it. Morphine merely allowed me to shunt it off somewhere else. Same with whatever pain meds they gave me post-surgery. I didn't even know I was on pain meds until they started to wear off (about every 12 hours, on the dot). I knew I still had pain deep down, but I just didn't care about it. However, after about 12 hours, I couldnt' ignore it and had to retake.

Now, I'm in constant pain (seriously, dont' ever get run over by a car on a bicycle, it will fuck you up). I've managed to deal with it, medication-free for the past 7-8 years, but occasionally I do eat an edible (once a month or so) when it's just been a physically stressful day and I need something to let me put it out of mind and relax. Cannabis does the trick good enough with no worries of addiction (which runs in my family pretty hardcore).

Agreed. My collection includes a Guantlett 2, Tempest, Ms PacMan, Xevious, Robotron 2048, and Smash TV (not in original cabinet). The rest of the modern stiff pretty much pales in comparison.
