Comment Chill out (Score 1) 711

If you took it literarily, you have serious issue. The statement is obvious humorous sarcasm intended to entertain Mac Developers. It is also obvious that would irritate Android fanatics.

As technical person working in technology, I have many technical friends that use iPhone or Android and sticking to it. Those are two different platforms with totally different ecosystem and philosophy behind them. Both have advantage and disadvantages. There is absolutely no reason to trash each others over differences.

The argument becomes pathetic like convincing die hard SUV owner that your new roadster is a better car.

Comment K-Cup, ZIP, and Malkovich (Score 1) 769

Keurig forgets that it got popular exactly because 3rd party K-Cups are easily assessable. Going proprietary will work for them exactly how it worked for Iomega and their ZIP drives. If you really want classy cup of joe from single cup machine without the mess -- go Nespresso. That is like PC (Keuring) vs. Apple (Nespresso). First is drip style coffee, other is expresso style. And you have to see those European Nespresso commercials with Malkovich and Clooney!

Comment Lotus -- OpenOffice (Score 4, Informative) 276

Latest versions of Lotus brand suite were based on OpenOffice. Symphony was just the Lotus style shell over it. There was no native version for years. Anyway, it is interesting how IBM can walk away from products with arms... Hard drives, ThinkPads, now Lotus...

Comment if you settle one, others will come... (Score 1) 138

It all started with Apple settling name dispute over iPad with Chinese company. That set the precedence for other East Asian companies to follow the suit. There was already suit for Chinese "snow leopard" name, some other bogus one, and now this... I am not siding with any side, but that sounds like leaching on potentially easy settlement money...

Comment Re:iWork migrated to iCloud (Score 1) 134

You are correct. iCloud for OSX version of iWorks apps is not ready yet.

OK, that very optimistic post. iCloud is fully integrated with iOS iWorks apps, not with OS X yet. There are few things coming July/August time frame -- iOS6, OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion, and updated iCloud (in Beta now). Only obvious guess would be that iWorks apps for OSX will be updates with Mountain Lion that is why shutdown of iWorks.com happens end of the month.
