I just wasn't in the mood to bust out my hacker skills. I wanted to watch "The Matrix" with my son. Sometimes we need to find the path of least resistance.

Indeed! The DVD "experience" has made streaming adoption that much faster. When I moved to my new home, I didn't even hook up a DVD player. I figured I had a PC hooked to the TV, so that would serve the purpose. The other day my son wanted to watch The Matrix. After fighting with the PC and it's rejection of the DVD because I didn't have the right decoder, we gave up. I paid $4 to watch it on Amazon Instant Video. Sure it isn't as good as the DVD, but convenience won out.
Comcast can burn in hell. I really really hope the merger with TWC is blocked.
I guess I didn't explain the whole day. The upside is that I can do personal stuff in between, like run to the store, jump in the pool, take a long lunch, watch the kids ballgame, etc. The point I am making is that instead of a contiguous 8 hour day, it is spread out along my awake time.
As a remote worker, my work day is stretched like taffy. I wake up at 6am and check for "Rome is burning" emails. After a cup of coffee I respond to emails from our offshore team. Real work starts around 8am and ends around 5pm. Email and other small tasks continue until 10pm bedtime.
Sorry to bust the truck love, but if you want a real truck get the GMC/Chevrolet 3500.

Great idea! I have been faithful to Motorola phones since the original RAZR (think Tony Soprano). I now have a RAZR M since I wanted the smallest, fully functional Android smartphone.
Nice!
Yes, I chose the basement option. However, it was a bit ambiguous as to whether it was the home office or the subterranean level of a corporate building (think Office Space).
The discussion hasn't touched much on home offices. I have full power, but I also pay the bills. My problem is that I work in the basement and do not have dual zone heat. If I want the basement warm, I have to heat the whole house.
So, I am kind of in the same boat as office minions but for different reasons. The solution is the same - space heater under the desk.
Never mind RTFA, how about RTFS? I was quoting the summary. The point was not meant to be literal. It is an expression meant to point out how little this would impact the cost of drilling.
The other companies that argue higher taxes would scare them from drilling are full of crap. How about paying a fair share to keep the infrastructure well maintained and the populace well educated?
As the last line of the summary says. Compared with those other factors, Kaiser says the tax rate is incidental. 'It's a rounding error.'"
That's not even the quote, where did that even come from?
Take a chill pill Sheldon. I paraphrased. If you want the exact wording, pull up the script.

I don't recall all the details. You can read the linked article for insight. I see your point about the spiral, so now I too am wondering exactly how it worked. The bottom line is it was faster, but not 7x faster. It was a good idea at the time since CD rotational speeds had been maxxed out.
For God's sake, stop researching for a while and begin to think!
