Seems we both get it. Glad to find a kindred spirit. I enjoy the great outdoors in New Hampshire.

Don't worry. Anybody under the age of 35 does not knows the propper grammar anyways.
Amen!
I want to actually observe the world around me on vacation. I noticed when I was in D.C. visiting all the memorials, so many people were staring at their phone claiming foursquare badges, etc.
Likewise, when I am outdoors doing something like skiing, I don't want to listen to music. I want to hear the world around me. Sometimes, the silence is deafening.
I like the smell of my 1972 Dodge Charger on leaded gas. How come I can't buy leaded gas?
Holy crap dude - you hit the nail on the head, but my brain went primal when you brought up the "Big O".
Like holographic memory? That has been single-digit years away for decades.
What makes a religion real? It is all based on imaginary characters. The only thing that makes it real is enough people agreeing to believe in it. Do we really think god looks like an old guy with a gray beard? If he is almighty, couldn't he keep himself looking fit and virile like a 25 year old? Hmmmm... now that reminds me of Riverworld.
My favorite mouse is an old Logitech MX LASER. It has built-in rechargeable batteries with a charging stand that also serves as the receiver. This also allows me to put the receiver closer to the mouse Most importantly, it has a PS/2 connector which is pretty hard to come by these days.
Now I just need to get a shark for it.
Coming out of the atheist closet among your friends and family can be just as daunting as admitting you are gay. I had a good friend get visibly angry with me when I said I do not believe in one god. In that perspective, he felt it was better to be a Muslim than an atheist.
So, yes, I am reticent to admit my unbelief.
Real nerds use FTP. HTTPS is for "the man".
Absolutely. In the world of corporate networks where all server ports are locked down, telnet is the quickest way to prove whether a port is open or not.
I'm not sure what the GP is bitching about. What is not raw about sending GET requests to http servers using telnet?
I remember me and my friends trying to spoof a 300 baud modem by squealing into the phone handset. This is back when we had to put the handset into the modem. Gawd I'm old.
Well said. Why is it that we get angry when some poor people collect welfare and food stamps, but nobody seems to care about corporate welfare, which is orders of magnitude greater in cost?
The perpetual-war syndrome needs to be stopped. We seem to think that because we succeeded in WW2 that we have some mandate to step in and solve all the worlds problems, despite repeated failures. Meanwhile, Haliburton and other quasi-military mega-corps are laughing all the way to the bank.
Love the UDP sig. Did you get this message?
If all else fails, lower your standards.
