On a more serious note though, some comments on this thread are along the lines of "Fuck you!! Don't you dare touch my guns - I'll own as many as I want" - unfortunately, until your attitude changes (for whatever reason), or until you are able to sit down and have a rational discussion about the topic, your country will always have the problem it has now.

Secondly, as a compromise, why not involve gun clubs more in the purchase and use of guns. What is missing is the human control aspect, and if a member of a gun club is slightly loopy then it is much more likely to be picked up through contact with other club members than if the person is isolated. That way there is little or no change for responsible gun owners, but a little more self-policing by clubs. Hell, it's your community, but it seems to want to distance itself from any members that go postal.

It makes for a pretty good stalking tool. Find me where all the rich young bitches hang out...

There are different levels of a-theism, the discussion of which is not one that should really be held in this forum since you can easily look them up elsewhere. Whilst almost agreeing with you, my point on your remark would be that it is far safer not to say "I believe that there isn't a god", but to say "I don't believe that there is a god". The difference being that the latter is careful not to shift burden of proof onto the premise that "there isn't a god". It's only words, but I think the specific words chosen here are important. It's up to the theist to define what he believes, not the a-theist.

I think the atheistic point of view means that it's OK to say that you don't know, you don't have to believe in anything and that saying that you don't know is preferable in circumstances like these to just simply "making shit up".

The thing I don't like about these machines is that, just like upgrading a laptop, if you want to upgrade from the older version of the 27-inch iMac, you have to buy a complete new system (unless I am mistaken), which seems to be a waste over a PC upgrade where you wouldn't have to fork over 800 bucks for another 27-inch screen that you are going to have to replace again at some time in the not-too-distant-future :(

Does that mean I have to upgrade to a 10 Giga-carrot connection?
