Sorry to NIWS for accusing him, he is innocent in all of this. I hereby make a public apology to him. He is a real good friend of Crawford's and a nice guy, genius in math and computer science, the best programmer you can find, and I'd like to consider him my friend if he'd just let me.

Did you try logging in with your joker.com account and file a tech support to change your email address because the domain email no longer works?

Modify a contact to change your contact info.

Here are their postal addresses and phone numbers it may be an International Call but you need to go up 'higher in the foodchain' to talk to a manager to change your email in your domain contact to your gmail one so they can send the document there.

If you need a free fax number try http://www.j2.com/ they usually give you a US number as part of a free trial if you want to hide your real number. I signed up when it was free, but now it is paid, but there is a free trial. IIRC they fax anything the number receives to your email as a TIFF file or something.

I hope you fix it, I am pulling for you. I know you don't like me, but I am trying to reform. I don't want to see you lose your domain over stupid DNS borking stuff.

Thanks Rusty I will update my blogs on it.

If you can get to your server and add support for www.kuro5h.in for cookies and such the mirror at kuro5h.in should be able to be functional until your domain host gets their heads out of their arses.

I assume this is the domain name server acting up? Feel free to use my kuro5h.in domain name. I might even transfer control of it over to you for free if that helps. I feel you need a backup domain in case they do this to you again at your new domain host.

As a rule of thumb never put an email with your domain name in the same domain name registry. Crawford did that and lost his domains that way. Always use a throwaway gmail address that you check from time to time or something that won't go down if the DNS gets borked. Never lose the password to that gmail address.

My orionblastar@gmail.com address is used for that for my domain names. I check it every single day.

I hope you get your domain name back up, they borked you really good on it, I'd cancel your account with them and try someone else like Dyndns or name.com or something.

I think you can file a complaint with Internic over the DNS host borking you and refusing to help because rusty@kurohin.org won't work as an email address because your domain name doesn't work. You should be able to contact Internic and authorize a domain name transfer using your postal address and phone numbers to have them contact and verify you are indeed Rusty Foster and not some social engineering hacking posing as Rusty Foster.

Orion Blastar writes: Use the link http://www.kuro5h.in/ to get a reverse proxy to read Kuro5hin.org this is a free service by Blastar of India and China.

I think the DNS has been hacked or something... or he's triggered a transfer. lol

just add into your /etc/hosts file

69.9.170.99 www.kuro5hin.org

To get www.kuro5hin.org working again.

The Kuro5h.in domain won't let you log in because the cookie is for kuro5hin.org so as soon as you log in, you will be logged out. You can only view the web proxy as an anonymous user. The hosts file update needs admin access in Windows. Look in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts or /etc/hosts for Unix systems.

Some possible causes of this problem:

1) Rusty didn't enter his real information and Internic is punishing him until he enters contact info that is real.

2) There is some social engineering hack to trigger a domain name transfer.

3) Rusty didn't pay his name server and DNS hosting bills.

4) Some hack attempts on the kuro5hin.org domain name, and maybe DoS attacks.

5) That hacker NIWS aka Jason P. has a grudge against Rusty and did something to the servers that do his DNS and name servers.

Submission + - Half-Life 3 Trademark Filed in Europe

jones_supa writes: A trademark application for Half-Life 3, possibly the next entry in Valve's excruciatingly dormant Half-Life franchise, has been filed in Europe, according to the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market, the European Union's trademark and designs registry. The OHIM's database lists the Half-Life 3 trademark as owned by Valve Corporation, and filed on its behalf by Casalonga & Associés, a patent and trademark firm. The trademark covers 'computer game software', 'downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices' and other goods and services. The application was filed on Sept. 29. There is no equivalent trademark on record at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The Thai philosophy is basically you cannot do anything about it, as even the elections are rigged, so don't worry about what you cannot control and just enjoy life. If you do worry about it and protest or complain, well the thought police will come after you to 're-educate' you in Room 101 so you'll love the government (big brother) anyway. They might even shoot you or arrest you without a warrant and throw you into jail without a trial. So don't speak back and complain and get all negative and post about it all over the Internet and draw attention to yourself so that the government notices it. Just be passive resistant, and do nothing, because if you do something there won't be anything left of you to do something for something else later.
