When people want to refer to Canadians, they just say "Canadians", there's really no confusion. If they want to refer to people of the whole north continent (both US and Canada), they can say "North Americans".. there are also Central Americans and South Americans, but the continents are collectively referred to as "The Americas".. there is no *single continent* called simply, "America"; it's understood by everyone but pendants that "America" means the USA.

This is spot on. In my area, there's really only Verizon or Comcast (and I can't even get FIOS here with Verizon). Both of them gouge the consumer, they're just two different heads of the same coin. I'm not a fan of big government, but some degree of regulation is a must in a capitalist system, and if anyone needs a taste of regulation, it'd be these two.

It does. I've been reading the DiscWorld series for the past year and half now, I've read nearly all of them, except for a few of the NightWatch books. I'm in the middle of reading Unseen Academicals right now. He will be sorely missed. However, suffering with Alzheimer's is horrible, and at least he's out of that misery.
I can just picture him finally meeting the Discworld's Death (and the Death of rats squeaking close by), and him choosing to live on the Discworld as his personal afterlife. That would be a really cool final dream, anyway, but most likely the Alzheimer's deprived him of any opportunity for that.

Of course it is, but this skewed experiment will go viral and lead to more cries of racism and civil unrest, more references to Ferguson and how evil non-brown skinned people are, possibly excluding Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, etc.. Like Morgan Freeman says, "If you want to end racism, stop talking about it so much".

The only time the "people" win is when the Federal Government does not regulate. Regulation is strangulation and, ultimately, death.

That's insane. No economic system in it's purest form is good, from Capitalism to Communism, because human nature always skews things over time and corruption creeps in. Only a system of checks and balances can prevent that.
I'll choose Capitalism over Communism any day of the week, but look what happens to Capitalism when it's left completely to it's own devices: child labor, abuses, monopolies, price fixing/gouging, employee rights erosion, etc...
The very heart of a free market ideology is destroyed by a series of increasingly larger mergers and consolidated control that unregulated corporations exercise. It eats it's own. It's entropy of the free market. Communism is even worse, as it puts all it's eggs into a single basket right from the onset (the government), so the abuses happen even more quickly.
All systems need a set of checks and balances, and that means regulations for corporations. The only question is what to regulate, and how much, but to completely remove regulation would destroy the country.
