Submission + - DirecTV forcing PPV DVR erasures

nebaz writes: DirecTV has announced that starting April 15, users will no longer be able to store Pay Per View movies on to their DVR for more than 24 hours. According to their site, "Major movie studios have required that satellite and cable providers alike may no longer allow their customers to view these recordings for longer than 24 hours. During the 24 hour viewing period, you will continue to enjoy all of your DVR features such as pause and rewind." I just got HD too.

Submission + - Battlestar Galactica 'Webisodes' conflict brewing

nebaz writes: MSNBC has an article saying that there is tension between NBC and Ron Moore and team about the royalties on the 'Webisodes' of Battlestar Galactica. The episodes have been seized by NBC, balking at Ron Moore's refusal to produce any more episodes, due to compensation issues.
