Journal Journal: 9.5 years later...

Well, that was interesting! Last time I wrote here I was just becoming a Mac programmer. Now I'm moving back towards GNOME and GNU. The sad thing is we've probably already gone past peak interesting desktop, and depending on your approach to life it was either Alto or NeXTSTEP. Not much new will be happening there now, even though it could and could be useful and exciting.

Journal Journal: Dark times ahead 3

Just when you thought you were out... they pull you back in.

The higher I go, the crookeder it becomes.

Never hate your enemies. It affects your judgment.

When they come... they come at what you love.

Finance is a gun. Politics is knowing when to pull the trigger.

It's dangerous to be an honest man.

I have a stone in my shoe.... A two-bit punk who works for me.

It's not personal. It's business.

Treachery is everywhere.

Nice party.
Oh, you like it?
Yeah, I had to sneak in.

your business is your business. I have no interest, no percentages. I'm out.

Your sins are terrible. It is just that you suffer. Your life could be redeemed, but I know you don't believe that. You will not change.

It never ends....

Suppose for a second, a scientific breakthrough comes up with a pill or a procedure, which prevents humans from ever falling sick. Will we be seriously listening to people arguing, it should not be made available, because its introduction would put doctors and hospitals out of business?

"With the Sony collapse, America has lost its first cyberwar. This is a very, very dangerous precedent" - Newt (lying, cheating 'family values' hypocrite) Gingrich.

Nothing is more inspiring than an 'attack'. It gives us... purpose! That purpose is... victory!

This JE was inspired by a guy's post on the upcoming so-called 'cyber-security bill', which is summed up perfectly with this:

They'll get this passed in one form or another, just you wait and see, and when they do the idea of Net Neutrality will be put to rest once and for all. Most won't notice. Most won't care. So why should I? I don't really -- it's just something interesting to observe and talk about. What's the point of caring if no one else can be bothered?

My feelings exactly... So, now you can stop asking the question, aieet?

Journal Journal: Fantasy 'football'.. kinda, sorta...

Here we are in the pre-season (yeah, if year 'round is seasonal) and the ideal campaign is shaping up thusly: Cheney/Nugent vs. Warren/Franken. Kinda of a Blofeld vs. Smalley thing. And even here it will be down to the wire... Hillary will spend her twilight years working the room after Henry leaves the building.
