Submission + - EU Wants Power To Block China's Tech Buying (itworld.com)

itwbennett writes: In an interview with German daily paper Handelsblatt, the EU's industry commissioner Antonio Tajani said he wants the power to block China from buying up European tech companies. Tajani envisions an authority along the same lines as the United States' Committee on Foreign Investment and would determine 'if the acquisition (of a company) with European know-how by a private or public foreign company represented a danger or not.'

There is also a matter of program compatibility. I found out too late that the ATI R4890 OC 1GB card has no 16bit Z buffer resulting in completely unplayable Mechwarrior games. One main reason I upgraded cards was to play the old games at absurd frame rates. The card will also overheat if i run the quick boot option on my Asus P5Q motherboard. The Linux version isn't compatible with my card so I can't use that function of my motherboard. It is a total waste.

Such an amazing environment we live in that can grow parasites of such enormous size. It's like looking at Jurassic Park and seeing a giant tick feed off of a dinosaur. This is really quite a fascinating find. Like a leach or mosquito we have no idea what major breakthrough that this event may precipitate under the current administration. The benefit of leaches has been well known for many centuries. The mosquito is by itself a minor nuisance, but when combined with malaria becomes a major health threat. Under this case if the lawyer that became a judge is a parasite perpetuating unnecessary litigation then the end result will be the death of the host organism.(The judiciary) All we need to do is find the tipping point where unnecessary litigation negates all justice and enforcement becomes impossible.

A lot of defense theory is based on ancient proven tech. When a paradigm shift happens every preconceived notion falls flat. A hacker can bring a standing army to it's knees just by modifying immunization data. Break into a vaccination center change some ATCG into a delayed time bomb. And when they vaccinate their own army with a tainted cure for smallpox they all wind up with something really unpleasant several years down the road. Until we develop a protein folding system with an understanding of all major variables in the human body we shouldn't deploy such a weapon until we can defend against it.
