Comment Should we vote out the incumbents? (Score 5, Interesting) 126

Overwhelming response telling our leaders exactly what we wanted through our only feedback system. And it is blatently IGNORED in favor of paid interests. It's not a surprise, considering that the FCC leader is ex-cable, and they are appointees directly from big business. However it obviously shows just how badly this country is broken. I'm not an alarmist, but it this simply isn't going to change with the current US government system. They have no REASON to change it.

Would you consider voting out the incumbents?

It's the only voting strategy that can make a difference, the only one that matters.

When congressmen realize that they can be voted out after a single term, we'll have pro-public policies.

And the best part is it's completely anonymous! No registration, no donations, no E-mail lists, no paper trail. Just resolve that "if this doesn't go in favor of the people, I'm voting against the incumbents".

This is exactly what we need right now in the short term until alt fuels get cheaper. Its going to be decades before all the gas cars are off the roads, poor people cant afford new cars so they buy used, there isnt much of a used electric market out there right now. It has the added benefit of not being in the middle east like you said. To me this is a win-win-win, except for that pesky russian thing that we need to resolve.

The Columbia accident, as well as countless near-misses that could have resulted in a Columbia style accident, was due to debris detaching from the external tank and striking the orbiter. If the vehicle is on top of the stack, nothing that breaks off of the rocket can physically come into contact with the vehicle.

I always wondered after the fact if the first runs with the painted tank had the foam issue or if the paint kept it contained. I know we stopped painting it for cost and weight concerns, but sometimes, it makes more sense to spend the money. Again I dont know if it would have helped but its a question ive always wondered and never seen really discussed by people in the know

to use a style loved by the left, why do you hate poor people? why do you want to allow poor people to be taken advantage of based on the rules you put in place??

We've done what we can with the robotic approach, at some point you need humans to take research to the next level rather than inching along for centuries.

Some people will die; some people always have died, will always die. That does not matter.

If you think it's gung-ho, well all I can say is it's side you decided to stop advancing the human race, not all of us share your pitiful lethargy. It's not gung-ho at all, it's a built-in drive that we still in the human race call humanity...

And so instead you see a bunch of lenses moving around which are considerably larger than the object they're trying to conceal, and furthermore would only work if all of them are oriented towards one particular viewer (viewers off to the side wouldn't be subject to this illusion.)

In other words, the Predator's plan of catching Arnie would fail pretty fast once his rear most lens bangs into a tree, knocking the whole thing out of alignment. Maybe Arnie doesn't see the predator, but he sees a strangely warped tree giving him plenty of warning which direction NOT to travel in in order to get to the choppa.
