Christianity is crazy all the time. What do you call believing in something that's completely imaginary, and can magically impregnate a woman. That what she gives birth to a magical man. And he's the son to the completely imaginary father. And based on a myth that's at least 5,000 years old. If that's not crazy, it is at the very least, incredibly dumb.

Guys like you have existed since before Jesus even came along. Christianity is always going to appear to have chinks in its armor to people who want it to have chinks in its armor.

The basic premise hasn't changed. People are sinners and God offers a way out.

True, we know that there is nowhere in the universe that His noodly appendages doesn't grace.

Christianity is crazy sometimes. Jesus obviously turned water into wine, yet we have Southern Baptist churches that will swear on a stack of Bibles that drinking is a sin.

There's an obvious defense in your example.

Also, the first thing you say if handcuffed by the police is "I would like to phone my lawyer" and then nothing else.

I promise this isn't meant in jest, but who do who phone if you didn't expect to ever get in trouble with the police? I might need a lawyer someday, but it's not something I expect to happen. What do you do if an arrest takes you totally by surprise?

If you let infrared light seep out of your house, that is your problem!

That is exactly how law enforcement has been catching indoor illegal drug growers for many years. They look for all of the excess heat given off by the growing lamps. Though in one recent case, the cops didn't need any equipment ... there was snow covering the roof of all of the units of an apartment/condo type development except for one unit. Guess which unit they got the search warrant for...

Funny you should mention that. Did you know that a distributed computing hobby and a drug farm can look exactly the same under infra-red? Haven't had it happen to be personally, but I can assure you it's no fun to have a SWAT team bust in simply because you're trying to find a bigass prime number.

Obviously, it would suck if you only had the one train, but what if it worked like a highway and trains could get on and off? So you could have multiple trains sharing the same track.

And, yes, I know, people think it wouldn't be in vacuum anymore, but pumping out air could simply be an intermediate step after people are already on the train, like waiting on a runway for a plane to actually take off.

But when you invest in gold, you're trying to avoid the huge ups and downs of the stock market. Correct me here, but gold value tends to increase in a recession and decrease in a boon, and in a boon you can simply get a job to recoup the losses. To me, it's a choice of being safe or _possibly_ rich.

But I have schizophrenia and live with my parents, so it's sort of a moot point. :)

Bias and objectivity are very similar. Objectivity is simply approved of bias.

It's like prejudice, we have to have prejudice to survive but it can get out of hand. People say prejudice is wrong, but if someone decided to make a fashion statement by wearing a cloth stocking over their head, there aren't a lot of people that would approve.
