Paul Watson was asked to leave Greenpeace because when GP was attempting to get charitable status with the US IRS, the IRS told them "No property damage". Later that week, Watson disarmed a harp seal hunter who was clubbing a seal to death and tossed the club into the ocean. That is considered property damage and the board asked him to resign.

A few years later, one of the other founders of GP decided that they had become too soft, left and joined Sea Shepherd.

I believe everyone on board SS's ships are vegetarian, if not Vegan.

The Japanese are not "Whaling", they are conducting "Research" which apparently involves stockpiling whale meat for consumption. The Japanese whaling fleet has repeatedly violated international treaties and at least one off-limits whale sanctuary. The largest power in the area is Australia and they refuse to enforce the international treaties that apply to the sanctuary, hence Sea Shepard has to step in and enforce the law.

I agree completely, however in certain circumstances such as border monitoring, the predator drones are a much better option. Cruising at about 25000 feet, they can see an enormous amount of ground. When you add the infrared and thermal imaging capabilities they normally carry, it gives you the ability to spot an object the size of a coyote in the dark and relay that information and location to officers on the ground.

In this case, on a 3,000 acre ranch, the use of a helicopter would have been cost-prohibitive and foolish. The suspects would have heard it and gone to ground. The predator is nearly silent at that altitude.

Before anyone goes all ape-s$%t about this being an intrusion of the military into civilian affairs, the drones in question are owned and operated by Customs and Border Patrol, a division of the Department of Homeland Security. They are housed at an Air Force base, but not used nor owned by the USAF.

CBP had been using drones for a couple of years to patrol the borders and this is an extension of that mission. Works better than a helo, especially for very large areas.

One of the earlier reports (about 6-8 months ago or so) on this weapon had a quote from one of the test engineers saying that the detonation was not unlike a tsunami. A very high pressure wave followed by an ignition that 'flowed around corners like water'. This thing was designed to kill everything in an underground complex with one hit, regardless of number of entrances.

I kept 3 different clocks on my desk until I found the FF addon FoxClocks.

Not nearly enough money there to offset the loss of business from social conservatives boycotting Gerber.

Which is why the lawsuit damage amount will be staggering. Same with disney.xxx. These companies can bring millions of dollars in legal muscle to bear when it comes to protecting their names and IP. Just the 'goodwill' & defamation of company character amounts will be huge.
