TPB? No thanks.
eztv.it is where it's at. TPB is crap for searching and subscribing to specific shows and having a nice RSS feed filtered already for you.
That's a feature, not a defect. I run Debian on a bunch of servers. I like that it changes slowly. I like that it's not trying to be the bleeding edge. I like that migrating from one major version of Debian to the next is reasonably painless. For running a bunch of servers, I want something that follows the tried and trusted, not something that rides on the bleeding edge and something that has an absolutely rock solid packaging system. This is Debian, and it's why Debian is the right tool for this job.
If you want a distro that develops, there's always Ubuntu or Fedora.
Please follow at a safe distance, and go back to drivers training.
Easy solution, STOP letting for profit companies run these things. If a community wants red light cameras, they can buy them, install them, and manage them all under heavy citizen oversight.

Spying on their citizens - Check
The difference here is that we the people still have the right to question the government, and organizations like the EFF continue to fight for it.
Economic stagnation - Check
You must be joking. American economy is anything but stagnant. Between 2009-2013, the U.S. GDP growth 1.9%, which is pretty good compared to most other OECD countries.
It may be "stagnant" when you compare it to a country like China at 7.7%, but that is simply not sustainable, not without artificial currency manipulation.
Riots - Check
A few days of media blitz over a police shootout is not the same as protesters fighting for democracy.
High unemployment - Check
What on earth are you talking about? The U.S. unemployment is at 5.9% as of September 2014 and China's is estimated at ~4.5%.
