This is not exactly new technology. Our 2001 Acura MDX used the exact same method. One problem with it was that it tended to become non responsive when it was hit with sunlight... Other than that it worked well.

The elephant in the room is that German, and European drivers in general, are better and more skilled that American drivers, and thus better prepared to drive at such speeds. A good percentage of American drivers are dangerous at 65 and the danger goes up by the square of the speed...

Toyota despises electric cars and has publicly stated this on many occasions. They plan to sell exactly the number of RAV4EVs that they need to meet CARB requirements (about 2,600) and not one more than that! Toyota believes (foolishly) that the future is hydrogen... It is unfortunate because the Fiat E is actually an excellent electric car! Far better than the gas version, in fact!

I'm sorry but this has existed in one form or other on hundreds of different cameras for many decades! Simply adding one more camera to the list (iPhone) does not make it a new and patentable device! Clearly this is prior art and the patent should have been rejected by the patent office.

Yep, my 2001 Acura has it too. They use wheel sensor data for speed and a gyro compass for azimuth. It works very well.

I have to disagree. I have a huge Insteon system and find it to be totally reliable. Actually, the larger the system the more reliable it is as every unit acts as a repeater and thus, the more units you have the more robust the system is.

Decades ago congress passed a law that require that Emergency rooms had to treat people whether or not they could pay... This is the gist of the problem and why so many trauma centers are going out of business... The illegal population now uses these as their own, free medical care, and the Hospital has to accept them and absorb a good portion of the cost...
