Comment Free low-speed WiFi. (Score 1) 283

I don't know about landline internet and as someone pointed out, most library systems offer some form of internet access for free.
However I have some need for low speed WiFi but really can't justify the costs of plans these days.

Things I need it for. Mostly our public transportation system. The vehicles are outfitted with WiFi and GPS. They have a site where you can enter your location and it will tell you when the next available transports will be there and what routes they run.

Of course Google maps is useful too.

A rare one where he plays a good guy.

Here's another one: Terry Pratchett's Death character is not evil. Nor good. It's just Him. But because of a fondness for kittens Death probably leans closer to good than evil...

Death is neither good nor bad, but he is on humanities side.
Myfavorite line from The Color of Magic movie is when he sighs and says "another near Rincewind moment."

So what.

People who are heavily invested in Apple and Apple development are going to be ecstatic because they think it will mean a groundswell of openings for Swift.

I remember the creation of mono and the open sourcing of ,Net which were supposed to do the same for .Net programming. Did that happen? A bit not nowhere near wht they were hoping for.

In the end Swift will be another niche language, which just a slightly bigger niche.
